Poster for the promotion of Cachou Lajaunie.
A red-haired woman in a dress of feathers in autumn colors smokes a cigarette, a box of Cachou Lajaunie in her hand to reduce the bad breath.
Cachou Lajaunie is a small square pastille of black color with licorice, sold in a yellow and round metal box. It was born in 1880 in Toulouse at the pharmacist Léon Lajaunie.
Leonetto Cappiello is an Italian painter, illustrator, caricaturist and poster designer, naturalized French in 1930. His poster career began in 1900 and continued until the 1930s. He remained loyal to the Vercasson printing works until the early 1920s , continued with the combined Printing works and began, at the same period, to work regularly for the publisher Devambez, with whom he signed, from 1921 to 1936, an exclusive contract.
